Review & Ratify Minutes

*January 9, 2019

-Jason Hyer motioned to ratify minutes and Alisa Buchanan seconded the motion. All were in favor.

*Council members watched District Reunification Video.

Plan Reviews

*2019-2020 Plan

-Midland was not selected by the district to implement 1:1 devices for the 2019-2020 school year. The district will determine the $ amount needed to implement 1:1 for 2-6 grades and staff. ( Approximately 529 devices for a total of $31,752.00) District will then pay 53% and the school 47%. The staff is required to attend at least 13 hours of training done by the technology and curriculum departments. The information was discussed and it was decided that Midland will use the 2019-2020 school year to become trained and try to implement 1:1 devices at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.

-Technology was left as an action plan step in the 2019-2020 Trustland Plan. An additional cart and chromebooks will be purchased for the 2nd grade to use.

-Imagine Learning and Aleks were also added as action steps to help achieve the reading and math goals.

-It was decided not to fund an attendance aide to call on students whose parents had not called and let the school know that they would be absent.

-Jason Hyer motioned to approve the 2019-2020 Trustland Plan and Alisa Buchanan seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. Carlene Sommers also voted yes after receiving a copy of the plan.

*It was shared that members could follow legislation by going to myuea.org and then clicking Under The Dome to find information about bills being proposed and who supported/opposed them.
