Community Council Meeting, January 9, 2019, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Minutes

Review & Ratify Minutes

*Council memebers unable to conduct business because a quorum was not present.

Video

*Council members watched School Lands mid-year adjustments video and discussed implications for the current year plan.

School Accountability Reports

*Council members reviewed Midland’s report found at https://utahschoolgrades.schools.utah.gov/Home/SchoolOverAllPerformance?SchoolID=1067&DistrictID=1050&SchoolNbr=123&SchoolLevel=K8&IsSplitSchool=0 and discussed recent changes in the reading and math programs.

*Council members also discussed the School Self-Reported Indicators (SSRIs).

Plan Reviews

*Council members reviewed the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 plan implementation and measurement results.

*Council members discussed the use of Pathways of Progress as a measurement tool for future plans and explored ways to increase parental involvement.

*Council members also discussed developments related to the upcoming 2019-2020 Plan including proposals from school administration related to technology and ongoing commitments.

*The 2019-2020 Plan is due on or before March 8, 2019.

Other Matters

*Council members discussed the importance of member attendance and reached a consensus that additional board members are needed in order to ensure the Community Council performs its mandated duties.

*The members also discussed scheduling an additional meeting before the March 8th submission deadline and issuing communication to all members on the importance of full attendance at the next meeting in order to approve the 2019-2020 Plan.
