The purpose of this information is to provide resources that will help you prepare for your child to begin a new school year. Below is a suggested list of instructional items/school supplies our students will use in their grade during the 2024-2025 school year.  NOTICE:  The items on this list will be used during the regular school day.  These items may be brought from home on a voluntary basis, otherwise, they will be furnished by the school.  A student may be required to replace supplies provided by the school which are lost, wasted, or damaged by the student through careless or irresponsible behavior.

First Grade

Welcome to First Grade!

We are looking forward to having you in our classes! We will be doing lots of activities while we build reading and math skills. We will begin the first grade year warming up by reviewing some of the material from kindergarten. First Grade’s focus is on reading, writing, science, and math.

Over the summer, practice writing your letters and numbers. Review the letter sounds and practice reading the short vowel words learned in kindergarten (example: c-a-t). You will need to get plenty of rest this summer because next year we will be learning a lot!

Thank you,

Mrs. Sutton, Miss Robinson, Mrs. Wise, and Miss Sandell
