Classic Fun Center in Layton, Utah, (867 N 1200 W) is hosting a Family Skate Night for Midland Elementary students and their families on March 19th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Come have a rollin' good time!!  (Skate at your own risk.)

March 25th, 6:30 p.m. @ Roy H.S.

Throughout the school year, our students have been receiving Character Education presentations in their classes. Some of these lessons come from a program called "Prevention Dimensions," which teaches students to make good choices throughout their lives.

All Midland students have been learning songs from "Prevention Dimensions" and will be singing with their grade at our Life Skills Musical Program. We are excited to also have Steve James, author of the Prevention Dimensions songs, perform for us. He will be offering his CDs at a discounted rate for our students and families. They will be available to purchase that night.

Hooray! It's almost time for our field trip! On February 20th, Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Chugg will take their classes to the North Fork Environmental Center. Mrs. Frayser and Mrs. Zimmerman will go on February 21st.

Hopefully, there will be enough snow, as we are looking forward to a day of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Your children will not need to bring any equipment with them and neither will the adults that are going with us. All of it will be supplied by the center. Below, you will find a list of how to dress. It is generally really cold up there, and everyone needs to be prepared for outside activities.

Parents are welcome to attend this field trip. If those adults attending would like a lunch (chicken nuggets), we need a payment of $3.25 by February 10th, so we can get a final lunch count to the cook at the center. Parents who do not pay by February 10th, can still attend but will need to supply their own lunches.

In addition, please remember that due to the nature of this trip, preschoolers and other siblings cannot join us.

Please be sure to . . .

• Dress in layers.
• Wear a winter coat (not a just a hoodie).
• Wear comfortable shoes. (We will be hiking about a ½ mile and then snowshoeing).
• Bring a hat and gloves.
• Wear sunscreen.
• Wear sunglasses if you have them.
• Leave toys and other "extra" things at home.
• Label coats, gloves, hats, etc. . .
